GSA/FTS Awards NextiraOne Federal Project Under New "Connections" Contract
FAIRFAX, Va. - September 16, 2003 - NextiraOne Federal, a Platinum Equity company and prime systems integrator of converged solutions to the U.S. government, today announced an award by the General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Technology Services (FTS) to provide communications solutions for the new Oklahoma City Federal Complex in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The initial request for bid for this project, which encompassed the integration of voice, data and wireless, was released in April of 2003 through the new GSA "Connections" contract. Currently under construction, the new Oklahoma complex will replace the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, which was destroyed during the 1995 explosion that devastated Oklahoma City and the country. The state-of-the-art technology showcased in this new facility will set the standard for future GSA projects.
The new structure will be dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives in the Oklahoma City bombing. "We are honored to be a part of this endeavor," said Chuck Roth, vice president of sales for NextiraOne Federal. NextiraOne Federal, through its vendor-independent approach, proposed a dual platform solution offering GSA the opportunity to see the benefits and costs of multiple qualified solutions. "Our winning proposal to GSA integrated Nortel Networks voice solutions and SpectraLink's wireless systems, along with a complete structured wiring system. We worked very hard with the customer to define their choices," commented Roth.
"As a prime systems integrator to the federal government, NextiraOne Federal understands the critical need for strategic alliances with technology leaders," stated Stephen Snyder, president of NextiraOne Federal. "We are able to differentiate ourselves by providing full systems integration while remaining vendor independent. By cultivating innovative partnerships, we offer the cutting edge of technology, providing our customers the option of choice from multiple solutions."
It is expected that the system will be fully installed and functional in October 2003, with tenant occupation beginning as early as December 2003.
