TELCOVE LAUNCHES VoIP SERVICE

Network-based VoIP Service Helps Enterprises Maximize Productivity and Operational Savings

Pittsburgh, PA - August 15, 2005- TelCove, a leading provider of business critical telecommunications services to enterprise customers and carriers, today announced the availability of VoIP (Voice-over-Internet Protocol) service for enterprises. TelCove's Network VoIP Service ("TNVS") is now deployed across the TelCove network and is ready for sale within and between all 70 TelCove markets. This new service has advantages over existing voice services in terms of overall capability, feature set, scalability, flexibility and comparable cost.

Productivity enhancements enabled through TelCove's VoIP offering include computer-telephone integration (e.g., follow-me services, consolidated email/voice, rules-based voicemail), full integration of remote office or road-warrior applications, and simplified multimedia collaboration (conferencing, web-conferencing/meeting, document sharing). Additionally, enterprises benefit from operational savings through the elimination of inter-site toll usage, consolidation of voice and data communications architectures, and management simplification of their common underlying voice/data technology.

TelCove's new network-based VoIP service provides a comprehensive set of VoIP end-user and local administrative features and functions to meet customers' next-generation business communication requirements. The service is offered at two levels of features and price points - Standard Enterprise VoIP Station service and Premium Enterprise VoIP Station service - to accommodate the business and technology requirements of each customer.

"TelCove is uniquely positioned to provide high quality VoIP business services because we own and manage the infrastructure supporting the entire life or stream of the IP call. We install fiber connections directly to customer premises. We have our own IP backbone network. And, we have our own interface to the PSTN. We offer a truly end to end solution," said Craig Drinkhall, senior vice president of product development and engineering.

TelCove's Network VoIP Service is an IP telephony service based on TelCove owned and managed equipment and facilities. TNVS utilizes a carrier-class, network-based VoIP platform to provide scalable and secure call control and features for a variety of IP telephony customer premises equipment or CPE handsets and access devices. TNVS is ideal for customers who desire to achieve the productivity and cost benefits associated with VoIP, but choose to focus their in-house IT resources on core business processes rather than on managing a VoIP migration or maintaining a VoIP infrastructure.

The new VoIP service is facilitated over TelCove's private IP backbone, thus ensuring unsurpassed levels of service delivery quality. End-to-end QoS is enforced across TelCove's IP backbone, and VoIP traffic is mapped to the highest network level available. The new service is available to any customer on the TelCove network.

Various other VoIP implementation options are now also available from TelCove, including managed and hosted IP-PBX. TelCove is therefore able to offer the appropriate VoIP solution for enterprise customers, whether network-based, customer premise-based, or collocated at a TelCove facility. In that regard, enterprises can choose the most suitable solution consistent with their specific business environments.
